looking for the name of a Nora Roberts book

I am looking for the title of a book written by Nora Roberts. Here's what I remember as the summary of it. This family has a son who dies, and the mother starts to help her grief by talking to her sons best friend, and I think something develops from that...

I'm pretty sure I've seen this book in an audio format, but I just have no clue as to what the title is. So, to all you, if any exist, Nora Roberts fans out there...what is that title?

I'm a huge Nora Roberts fan and am working my way through all of the books available by her through the NLS system. This description doesn't make a title jump into my head, but I'll do some research and see if I can come up with it for you.

Katie, are you absolutely certain it's a Nora Roberts book? Here's what I did: first I checked out the online catalog for the NLS program and read the annotations of all the Nora Roberts books they have recorded. Nothing sounds like what you want. Then I went to an online bookstore that sells all her books and read those descriptions. Again, nothing. Then I went to an author's web site that I visit a lot and asked if anyone knew what the book could be and posted your description. One person suggested that it might be a book by another author called Family Blessings that you want. The author is LaVyrle Spencer.

So, here's the description of this book by LaVyrle Spencer. Let me know if this is what you were thinking of:

When his roommate and fellow cop, Greg Reston, is
